In 2023, the PACEdays user conference was held at the Maritim proArte Hotel on 3-4 May 2023.
Like every year, we made it a point to provide great value to attendees in the form of featured insightful content from industry insiders, as well as detailed product updates from PACE experts and networking opportunities. Additionally, this year we decided to spice things up with exciting new featured activities.
We showcased a life-sized A320 training simulator together with ProSim, our sister company, promoting our unique PACEdays simulator landing challenge.
We hosted the first ever Future Innovators Awards ceremony in aircraft preliminary design. On May 3 we announced the victorious teams. Best project award went to Team Anemoi from Politecnico di Torino. Best presentation award went to the Le Plewb Project from Institut Supérieur de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace ISAE-SUPAERO. The award was an acknowledgement of the exceptional dedication, expertise, and creativity displayed by these talented individuals. Their efforts, innovative thinking, balanced engineering mentality, and commitment to pushing the boundaries of aircraft design have truly set them apart.
We organised an exclusive panel discussion lineup on data sharing and cabin configuration featuring Airbus, Recaro, The Boeing Company and Geven as guest panelists.
Furthermore, we presented insights about our sustainable aviation R&D projects, describing how PACE contributes to sustainability through aerospace research.
PACEdays 2023 featured a unique lineup of speakers from major aviation and aerospace organizations.
This year's lineup included speakers from the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI), Airbus, American Airlines, The Boeing Company, Cape Winelands Airport, Datwyler, DTN, Geven, Hitachi Energy, Inmarsat, ProSim and Recaro.
Also on the agenda we had a presentation by Richard Wilson, aerospace consultant and author of the forthcoming textbook Whole Aircraft Design: So What?
Other guest speakers included a representative from the European Defense Fund's NEUMANN project as well as members of the cleverly named PENGUINS (Pacelab Electrification of a Next Generation UAS Using INexpensive Solutions) team at Georgia Tech's Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory (ASDL).
This year, there was a record number of attendees, with participants from more than 40 major aviation and aerospace organizations, including representatives from aircraft OEMs, suppliers, airlines, consultancies and educational institutions. If you weren't able to join this year's event, we hope to see you at the next!
This year's PACEdays agenda also focused on what we called PACE in Action, the story of how PACE software solutions facilitate a wide range of challenges related to getting the world's aircraft from the drawing board into the sky and beyond, such as:
